Musotik got another round of updates today. Including pictures from flickr and news from technorati. Other updates are minimal but you'll notice the tool tips on the albums and related artist are now much easier to view. The updates category from this blog are now displayed on the front page of Musotik. Again a lot of these features do not work correctly in IE. Especially IE versions under 7. I highly recommend upgrading to firefox. I really have no plans to make it work in IE 6.

I made a couple transparent changes to the way the caching and mp3 search works. We should see less errors on the related and album listings. Also projectplaylist searching has been fixed to either show a mp3 or don't, instead of always displaying something even when it was a link back to Musotik and not an mp3.

I added a link to re-search for albums. I have not set up automatic cache clearing yet. So if you search for an artist and don't see the album listed, you can click to rehash the list.

On the track pages you will now see a "share this with a friend" url. By sending that url to a friend or linking to it from your blog or site, you can lead visitors directly to the song you want. Instead of just the artist. I'll do the same with albums.

I really want to work-in some kinda of remix searching. So I can ask for a song and search the DBs for remixes only. I spend a lot of time on the net looking for mashup and remixes of songs. I think this would be a neat and useful feature for Musotik to have. Tell me what you think of the idea.
